Actor Kang Ha-kyung joins the new tvN drama "What I Decided to Die For."
On the 1st, FN Entertainment said, "Actor Kang Ha-kyung has been cast in tvN's new drama "What I Decided to Die For,"" and added, "Please look forward to the powerful transformation Kang Ha-kyung, who has imprinted a heavy presence with her own color in each work, will show in this project."
tvN's new drama "What I Decided to Die For" (written by Kim Sol-ji, directed by Choi Jung-gyu, Kim Hie-won) is based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name (by YUJU). It depicts the fate-returning romance of Cha Gyeol (played by Lee Chae-min), who repeats life several times to save the person he loves, and Nam Ji-o (played by Roh Yoon-seo), who fights destiny to protect his life.
Kang Ha-kyung will play Park Woo-jin, who seems to have been born with all the misfortunes of the world. Park Woo-jin, who has lived in a ruthless world, weak against the strong and strong against the weak since childhood, is a character who spares no means or methods to achieve her goals.
Kang Ha-kyung plans to portray not only Park Woo-jin's rough and sharp aspects but also the complex inner side hidden beneath them, delicately expressing and fully realizing the character in three dimensions. Based on her solid acting skills accumulated over time, she is expected to once again emit a powerful presence.
Kang Ha-kyung has steadily expanded her filmography by taking on distinctive characters across various genres, including the dramas The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, Lover, Fly, the movie Humint, Streaming, and the musical Sisyphus: The Myth.
She continues to move between media and stage. Kang Ha-kyung is meeting audiences on stage in the musical Brothers Karamazov, which is being performed at NOL Theater Daehak-ro through Sept. 6. Interest is focused on what new face Kang Ha-kyung, who has completed characters with her own color in each work, will show in "What I Decided to Die For."
Meanwhile, the tvN new drama "What I Decided to Die For," starring Kang Ha-kyung, is scheduled to be released in 2027.
