A Trap Called Desire Jeon Hye-won finally set foot in the "tiger's den" where Jang Seo-hee is holding out.
On the 31st of last month, episode 16 of the KBS 2TV daily drama A Trap Called Desire (directed by Lee Dae-kyung, Jeong Kwang-soo; written by Koo Ji-won) showed Go Eun-seol (played by Jeon Hye-won) succeeding in joining Cheongma Group despite strong opposition from Joo Mi-ran (played by Jang Seo-hee) and Kang Hae-ra (played by Joo Saebyeok). That broadcast recorded an 8.2% viewership rating (provided by Nielsen Korea, nationwide households) and set a new personal high.
After Go Eun-seol's criminal record was exposed by Kang Hae-ra, when Kang Young-hoon (played by Yoo Tae-woong) tried to cancel her hiring, she insisted she had been framed and refused to back down. But when the situation did not ease, Go Eun-seol sought help from Teacher Park, whom she had met in prison, and took the extreme step of spreading a rumor about Cheongma Group in financial circles.
Eventually, concerned about the company's image, Kang Young-hoon decided to formally hire Go Eun-seol. Having finally entered Cheongma Group, Go Eun-seol took her first step toward uncovering the truth surrounding the death of her adoptive mother Park Hee-jung (played by Seo Yoo-jung).
Watching the situation, Joo Mi-ran noticed that Go Eun-seol was determined to find the person responsible for her mother's death. But Joo Mi-ran did not waver. She told Director General Na (played by Im Jae-geun), "Don't worry, what can a lowly designer like that do at Cheongma? Get the foundation board of directors' roster," revealing another ambition. Joo Mi-ran's efforts to fill even the next director position with her own person created an icy tension.
On her first day at Cheongma's design team, Go Eun-seol outwardly adapted to the company as a new employee while also tracking the whereabouts of the Cheongma Group corporate car used by fake witness Lee Jeong-tae (played by Ahn Hong-jin) and digging into the truth about Park Hee-jung's death.
But company life was not smooth either. Team leader Kang Hae-ra ostracized Go Eun-seol, treating her like an invisible person, and pressured her with unreasonable tasks. Go Eun-seol did not back down easily and confronted her directly, and a tense standoff continued between the two.
At the end of the broadcast, the meeting between Cha Seok-jin (played by Seol Junghwan) and Seo Hyun-jae (played by Jang Se-hyun) heightened the tension. After learning that Go Eun-seol and Seo Hyun-jae had once faced each other as defendant and lawyer, Cha Seok-jin probed whether Go Eun-seol was the one who spread the Cheongma Group rumor. Having detected not only Go Eun-seol's past but also her connection to Seo Hyun-jae, viewers wondered what judgment Cha Seok-jin would make next.
