Nine years later, the noir drama Made In Korea season 2, which depicts the perilous journey of Baek Gi-tae as he rushes toward greater desire, raised expectations by releasing character posters and character trailers featuring the intense visuals of 10 people.
First, the character posters capture the weighty aura of individuals harboring their own desires, drawing attention. They include Baek Gi-tae (Hyunbin), who races to the pinnacle of power; Jang Geon-young (Jung Woosung), who returned for revenge; Baek Gi-hyeon (Woo Do Hwan), who faces a choice between family and conviction; Korea's first female prosecutor Oh Ye-jin (Seo Eun-soo); Ikeda Yuji (Won Jian), who aims for the position of kumi-cho; Cheon Seok-jung (Jung Sung-il), who wields absolute power; Pyo Hak-su (Roh Jae Won), director general of the Central Intelligence Agency's Busan branch; Baek So-young (Cha Hee), who became the mastermind behind illegal businesses; and Mrs. Shin (Jang Hye-Jin) and Hwang Dae-sik (Heo Jeong-do). The assembly of people with different aims foretells fiercer and more dangerous confrontations.
Under the title "MADE IN KOREA," the figures looking in different directions hint at hidden desires and raise expectations for a deeper and expanded narrative.
The released character trailers foreshadow a full-scale clash between the Central Intelligence Agency and the joint investigation unit, heightening tension. Baek Gi-tae, with a cold expression, says, "This is war now. One side has to die for it to end," marking the start of a major confrontation. Cheon Seok-jung also reveals deep hostility toward the joint investigation unit, saying, "You have to cut the shoots cleanly." Then Ikeda Yuji's overwhelming visual draws attention as she asks, "Is there anyone who opposes me becoming kumi-cho?" Adding to the mounting intrigue over the internal turbulence and tangled relationships, Pyo Hak-su says, "As long as it's not me, it's fine," and the Central Intelligence Agency's new face Mrs. Shin utters a meaningful line.
Meanwhile, Baek Gi-hyeon, who joined the joint investigation unit, and Jang Geon-young, who pressures him to choose, hint at a cool counterattack with, "This place is one or the other. Either you die and disappear, or you live and get out." Oh Ye-jin of the joint investigation unit also boldly throws herself into the fight, saying, "Is there a distinction between female and male prosecutors? A prosecutor is just a prosecutor," and Hwang Dae-sik adds a chilling intensity with, "As much as you did for me, I will take responsibility for you to the end." Baek Gi-hyeon's retort to Jang Geon-young, "Are you asking me to betray my brother?" heightens curiosity about the final choice, while Baek Gi-tae's command, "If you started it, you have to finish it," elevates anticipation for the perilous power struggle.
The Disney+ original series Made In Korea season 2, which raised expectations by releasing character posters and trailers that foreshadow a fierce battle between the Central Intelligence Agency and the joint investigation unit, will be available exclusively on Disney+ with two episodes on Sep. 9, 2026 (Wed), two episodes on Sep. 16, 2026 (Wed) and two episodes on Sep. 23, 2026 (Wed), for a total of six episodes.
Meanwhile, Made In Korea season 2 is a new work released about nine months after season 1 premiered last year. At the time, season 1 solidified the series' presence by breaking domestic viewership records among Korean original contents released on Disney+ in 2025. On streaming ranking site FlixPatrol, it achieved 23 consecutive days at No. 1 in the Disney+ top 10 TV shows in Korea, ranked No. 1 in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and No. 2 in Japan and Singapore. In addition, it was the most-watched Korean work in the Asia-Pacific region during the past year.
