Broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon shared an update that he is quitting smoking.
On the 31st, Hong posted to his account a video along with the message, "quit smoking day 5 ㅠㅠ getting a little irritable, just try to provoke me!! This isn't easy, I need encouragement!"
In the video, while doing the dishes Hong said, "I'm not doing the dishes because I want to, it's day five of quitting smoking and I'm getting kind of irritable so I have to move around busily. So I don't think about it."
He went on to say, "If I stay still I think I'll start thinking about it. I just have to do the dishes, clean the house, exercise and move around a lot. I have to keep busy."
Hong mimed smoking with chopsticks, saying, "If I don't move, if I give myself a brief gap, I think I'll think about smoking." He also faced the camera and said, "Quitting is still hard but it's day five," asking internet users to cheer him on.
Internet users who saw this left supportive comments such as, "Please succeed," "Fighting, we're cheering for you," "You'll be okay once that period passes," and "You're doing well."
Meanwhile, Hong mentioned on the 27th via SNS that he has a new goal and referenced quitting smoking and exercising. Now 55, he said he smoked for about 25 years starting at age 30.
At the time Hong said, "I decided to make up my mind, so with quitting smoking and exercise as goals I'm aiming to appear in a body profile or fitness competition after 100 days and thinking of filming for YouTube."
