A Love Other Than Yours is drawing attention even before its broadcast for the couple acting of Seo Kang-jun and Ahn Eun-jin.

KBS 2TV's new Saturday-Sunday miniseries A Love Other Than Yours (directed by Hwang Seung-gi and Lee Ga-ram, written by Yoo Soo-ji, produced by UNI CHEM) is a realistic, relatable real-life romance drama about a couple in their 10th year of dating whose familiar partner faces unfamiliar feelings. Seo Kang-jun plays Namgung-ho, a 10-year boyfriend who has dreamed of a happy future while looking at only one person for 10 years, Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin), and delivers deep emotional acting. For viewers who have been eagerly awaiting Seo Kang-jun's brand of romance, he conveyed sincere introductions and affection for the work and his character through a written interview ahead of the first broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Seo Kang-jun recalled when he first encountered the work, saying, "Namgung-ho was the first character who caught my eye." "He is delicate and kind but has a coldness that comes from a solid inner core, and while he compromises with reality he does not cross appropriate lines; he felt less like a well-designed character and more like a 'person' who could actually exist somewhere. I felt the same kind of charm in the work. "Normally dramas let you experience fantasy or fill deficiencies, but A Love Other Than Yours is in touch with reality," he said. He added the reason he chose the work: "I was even more immersed because it is our story that portrays life and growth through the universal theme of love."
The keyword for the love Namgung-ho pursues is "sacrifice." Seo Kang-jun introduced him by saying, "Working at a company, saving money, and enduring some of life's injustices are all for the future with Lee Mi-do. He is a sacrificial person who would do anything for his partner." Therefore, expressing the character's emotions plainly yet authentically was more important than ever. Seo Kang-jun, who said, "I tried not to overexpress," explained the difference in his acting: "I hoped Namgung-ho's deep thoughts and worries would be reflected in his eyes rather than words, and I constantly considered emotions and life that are not written in the script."
The romantic chemistry with Ahn Eun-jin is a key point of this work. Seo Kang-jun's remark, "the phrase 'one look and we're in sync' comes to mind first," raises expectations even more. "I valued familiarity above all. We talked a lot about expressing the comfort unique to long-term lovers who notice each other without words," Seo Kang-jun said, adding, "Even in scenes that required depth of emotion, our interpretations matched surprisingly well, and I felt reassured and happy each time we acted together," boasting the chemistry of a couple in their 10th year.
The reason Seo Kang-jun can more confidently introduce the realistic romance he completes with Ahn Eun-jin is that "it is a drama in which anyone who has loved can deeply immerse themselves in all the characters through emotions such as jealousy, boredom, love-hate, understanding, and sacrifice." He said, "The shaking one might face amid familiarity and boredom, and yet the deep history of long-term couples that they cannot escape will move hearts and make people root for them," and added, "This fall I encourage you to be fully immersed in the love stories of all of us who are walking on this land."
A Love Other Than Yours, a KBS 2TV new Saturday-Sunday miniseries that depicts love that feels more real than reality and the stories of people who grow within it, will premiere at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. It will be released to viewers in more than 240 countries and territories around the world via the global streaming service Amazon Prime Video simultaneously with the domestic broadcast.
Meanwhile, Ahn Eun-jin chose A Love Other Than Yours as her next project after SBS's Dynamite Kiss, and Seo Kang-jun, having finished the Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand released earlier this year, is returning to TV drama, raising expectations for the two actors' first acting chemistry.<
