Group Blackpink member Jeesoo revealed behind-the-scenes details of Coachella 2023.
On the 30th, the YouTube channel W KOREA posted a video titled Jeesoo and a meme interview look back at 10 years since debut! Why was there silence at the Blackpink concert?
On that day Jeesoo rewatched footage after Blackpink completed their headliner set at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the first K-pop (Korean pop) act to do so in the U.S.
When the Blackpink members cried with emotion after the show, Jeesoo teased, "Oh? She's crying, she's crying." In the video Jeesoo jokingly told the members who were lingering, "Blackpink, you aren't going to take pictures, right? I'm going to change clothes," which drew laughter.
Jeesoo said, "It was something someone had to do," and noted, "Even though the performance was over, the members weren't leaving their spots." He added, "Coachella was far from L.A. I had planned to go to L.A. after it ended, but it was about a two-hour drive so I wanted to pack up quickly."
Asked whether the nickname used to call the members was 'Blackpink,' Jeesoo said, "It's not like that," explaining, "At that moment I thought if I called out 'Blackpink' they'd look at me right away, so I called them that."
