Epic High had fans in stitches with actions that seemed more committed to laughter than music.
Two-Cut left the song lyrics "That person is me. Please love that person" on his social media on the 30th. There was no particular explanation or rebuttal, but it was a witty admission that he was the member Tablo had publicly 'exposed' the day before.
The incident began with Epic High members' self-produced content called the 'Epicase song festival.' With the three members about to face off in a 1-on-1-on-1 battle in the main competition, Tablo suddenly apologized to fans. He confessed to 'Team Tablo,' who support him, that "I don't have confidence in winning" and said an unexpected competitor had appeared. That person was Two-Cut.
At first Tablo thought it was lighthearted competition among members, but he joked that "I didn't know one of the members was a complete sociopath." He went on to reveal that the member had "mobilized more than half of a section of the K-pop industry," expanding the event to the point where it was hard to tell whether it was a song contest or an awards ceremony.
The situation was no different in the SNS competition. Even Tablo, who was usually confident in online activity, clicked his tongue and said, "I can't beat this guy. This guy's crazy." He was even baffled to realize belatedly that a photo he had taken thinking it was for filming an overseas event seemed to have been used by Two-Cut for his event prizes.
The day after Tablo essentially raised the white flag, Two-Cut responded not with a long explanation but with the single line "That person is me." Rather than denying Tablo's exposure, he borrowed song lyrics to ask to be loved, completing an Epic High–style back-and-forth.
Fans, who were made to forget the trio's main profession, responded with amusement: "At this point they're more of a comedy group than a hip-hop group," "Epic High looks happiest when they're firing at each other," "It's funnier that Two-Cut admits it with one line," "Watching the members fight is more entertaining than the song festival," and so on.
In the end, Two-Cut barely blinked at Tablo's public snipe. Interest is growing in how far the heated competition among the three will go even before the main stage opens.
