Jang Seo-hee reveals the dormant desire stirred by Jeon Hye-won's arrival.
On the 31st episode of KBS 2TV daily drama A Trap Called Desire (directed by Lee Dae-kyung, Jung Kwang-soo; written by Koo Ji-won), episode 16 intensifies the moves of Joo Mi-ran (played by Jang Seo-hee) and Kang Hae-ra (played by Joo Saebyeok) surrounding Go Eun-seol's (played by Jeon Hye-won) hiring at Cheongma Group.
Earlier, Go Eun-seol won a designer contest and finally succeeded in joining Cheongma Group. But the joy was brief: Kang Hae-ra discovered that Go Eun-seol was an ex-convict and exposed this in front of company people including Kang Young-hoon (played by Yoo Tae-woong) and Kim Jung-sun (played by Yoon Hae-young). As Go Eun-seol's past was revealed at the awards ceremony, a tense atmosphere pervaded Cheongma Group and even the hard-won job opportunity was put at risk.
Meanwhile, a still released ahead of today's broadcast catches the eye by showing Joo Mi-ran watching Go Eun-seol closely. With her arms folded as she looks at Go Eun-seol, Joo Mi-ran's eyes convey wariness and a meaningful atmosphere. By contrast, Kang Hae-ra, who backed Go Eun-seol into a corner, smiles as if certain of victory, raising questions about whether events are unfolding according to his plan.
Even as Joo Mi-ran and Kang Hae-ra demand cancellation of the hiring, Go Eun-seol stands her ground, insisting she was framed. When Kang Young-hoon tries to cancel the hiring, Go Eun-seol is said to play an unexpected strong card, drawing attention. All eyes are on what last-ditch move the cornered Go Eun-seol will make, whether she can seize another chance to join Cheongma Group and uncover the truth surrounding Park Hee-jung's (played by Seo Yoo-jung) death.
Joo Mi-ran's actions are also unusual. As the formidable appearance of Go Eun-seol shakes the plan she designed, she begins to bare sharp claws once more. Knowing Cheongma Group's power dynamics better than anyone, Joo Mi-ran raises tension over what choice she will make to protect her position.
Meanwhile, Cha Seok-jin (played by Seol Junghwan), who learns about Go Eun-seol's past, meets Seo Hyun-jae (played by Jang Se-hyun) to discuss Go Eun-seol. Attention is focused on what course Cha Seok-jin, who has judged situations coolly rather than been swayed by emotion, will take going forward.
