On the 29th and 30th, in episodes 11 and 12 of the KBS 2TV weekend drama Love On The Menu (director Hong Seok-gu, writer Lee Kyung-hee), Lee Joo-yeon realistically portrayed Jang Seo-hyun standing firmly to protect a love met with opposition, drawing viewers' sympathy.
Lee Joo-yeon portrayed Jang Seo-hyun's unwavering stance before love in a three-dimensional way. Jang Seo-hyun, facing repeated opposition from mother Go Yoon-hee (Yoon Yoo-seon) to her relationship with Kim Moo-jin (Ha Seok-jin), ultimately ran away from home. She revealed her desperate feelings by telling Kim Moo-jin, who tried to send her back home, "I ran away after a thousand agonies because I thought I would die," expressing her desperate state so far.
Then, in Jang Seo-hyun's question, "If mom keeps opposing it, will you break up with me?" her earnest wish not to lose her love for Kim Moo-jin was fully evident. Lee Joo-yeon lent weight to Jang Seo-hyun's pure devotion by delicately expressing emotions where anxiety and tenderness intersected.
Back home, Jang Seo-hyun declared to Go Yoon-hee, "If you keep preventing me from seeing Moo-jin, I'll really leave," maintaining a hardline stance.
