On the 29th, a friend of the late Lee Yongju posted on social media, "Even as I write this news, I still can't believe it. I heard the news that the actor Lee Yongju, who brought laughter to many as the bumbling but lovable 'New Recruit Lee Yongju' in 'Pureungeotap', suddenly passed away from a heart attack that morning," the friend announced the obituary.
A friend of the late Lee Yongju said, "The obituary has not been fully conveyed except to the bereaved family and a few close acquaintances. Born in 1982, Lee Yongju officially debuted in 2004 playing Cheol in the film 'Doma An Jung-geun'. With the cause of death reported as a heart attack, attention has turned to the fact that the late Lee Yongju was previously exempted from military service due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. At the 'Pureungeotap' press conference, he said, "My mother's health was poor, so I got tested and was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a condition in which the heart muscle thickens).
