Director Christopher Nolan's film '오디세이' has surpassed the 8 million mark and entered the countdown to 10 million.
According to the integrated movie ticketing system, '오디세이' drew 211,180 viewers on the 28th, the 24th day since its release, bringing its cumulative audience to 8,017,492.
With this, '오디세이' set a new box-office milestone by surpassing 8 million cumulative viewers faster than any 2026 release to date. This is an overwhelming record two days ahead of the 8 million milestone (on the 26th day after release) reached by this year's top-grossing foreign film, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," and the only film this year to attract 10 million viewers, "왕과 사는 남자."
Following '오디세이,' "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" drew 46,451 viewers, bringing its cumulative audience to 8,344,410, while "경주기행" added 28,375 viewers in one day to reach a total of 95,796 and is on the verge of surpassing 100,000 viewers.
Even as new releases mount a strong offensive entering the fourth week since release, '오디세이's box-office strength remains solid. It has led the box office every day since opening without relinquishing the No. 1 spot even for a single day, and its advance ticket sales exceed 560,000, firmly maintaining its lead.
After nearly a month of steady long-term success, attention is focused on what further box-office records '오디세이' will set going forward.
