'My Genie Secretary' Lee Seo-jin said VV did not know VV's signature song "밤양갱".
On the 28th, the first broadcast of SBS variety show 'My Genie Secretary' (hereafter 'My Genie Secretary') depicted singer VV appearing as the my star and her first meeting with Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu.
That day the two met VV at the 'Waterbomb 2026' event. However, because of backlighting and presbyopia issues they did not recognize her at once, and Kim Kwang-kyu said, "Because of the backlight I couldn't see her face well," then belatedly greeted her warmly.
VV, who said this was her fifth time performing on the 'Waterbomb' stage, said she would sing a total of seven songs. Kim Kwang-kyu mentioned knowing the song 'The Weeknd,' which ranked 29 on U.S. radio charts, and 'Bad X,' which achieved 100 million views.
Then VV said, "Actually, the only song I can do today is '밤양갱'," and Kim Kwang-kyu revealed, "She said she didn't know '밤양갱'." VV was astonished and said, "'밤양갱'? Isn't that basically telling people not to listen to the song?"
Flustered, Lee Seo-jin explained, "No, it's not that I don't know singers or songs," and added, "I only listen to pop," which had the opposite effect, and VV laughed as she called Lee Seo-jin "kind of unlucky…"
Lee Seo-jin explained, "When I was a student only pop came out. I'm stuck in that era. I listen to old pop, not today's pop." VV empathized by singing an old pop song.
