Singer and producer MC MONG announced the release of a new song ahead of his Busan concert.
On the 28th, MC MONG uploaded the new song cover photo along with a post on his social account saying "first pre-release in 6 years Young days .. releasing tomorrow at 6 p.m." The image features the new song title "Young days" written against a red background with burning paper flowers, drawing attention.
MC MONG will meet fans in person at the 2026 MC MONG concert "a midsummer night's ice kkaekki - Busan" performance at KBS Hall in Busan at 5 p.m. on the 29th.
Earlier, MC MONG held solo concerts at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul on the 14th and 16th. After finishing the Seoul performances, MC MONG hinted at his impressions of the Seoul shows and plans for the new song release on the 22nd, saying, "I am releasing it for the first time. Thank you. It was truly an honor. And I will release a pre-release new song along with the Busan concert on the 29th."
MC MONG has not released new songs outside of the 20th anniversary remake or artist collaboration projects since releasing his ninth studio album FLOWER 9 in March 2021. Meanwhile, he unveiled the new song title and cover image for the first time in about five and a half years, drawing a strong reaction from fans. MC MONG is also reported to plan to premiere the new song stage for the first time at the Busan performance.
Separately, MC MONG was recently embroiled in allegations of proxy prescriptions of zolpidem and was reported to police on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act and the Medical Service Act, leading to a police investigation. Having denied the allegations, MC MONG tested negative in the National Forensic Service's precision drug test and was not prosecuted due to insufficient evidence, clearing him of the charges.
Earlier, various allegations arose related to One Hundred Label, which he founded with Cha Ga-won and p_Arc Group chairman, but he fully denied them in a live broadcast and said, "To avoid hiding amid rumors and misunderstandings, a singer can prove it on stage. I want to meet you through my music," announcing the concert and comeback.
