'The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF)' (hereafter 'Bukope') remains hot even up to the closing ceremony.
The 14th 'Bukope' successfully wrapped up the 'Comedy open concert,' which meets even more audiences, and the 'Comedy seminar,' a forum for discussing the development of the comedy industry.
The 'Comedy open concert,' held on the 25th, received an explosive response with eye-catching performances. The show for domestic and international cruise passengers cheerfully opened with magician Kim Min-hyeong's 'hoots magic show,' which combined comedy and magic, and NewJeans member Yunseong (portrayed by Yoon Seong-ho) energized tourists with a distinctive DJing show that blended EDM with Buddhist philosophy.
At the 'Comedy open concert' held on the 27th, Jo Yun-ho, Kim Young-jo and Hong Hwon's 'Magicjo' stimulated interest with a collaboration of mysterious magic and comedy; twin comedians Lee Sang-ho and Lee Sang-min's 'Trotdungi'; and 'Tin man,' who looks statue-like on the outside but transforms the moment he surrenders to the music, all brought joy. The overseas team 'Fire Album' closed the 'Comedy open concert' finale with a spectacular stage that combined Korea's traditional fire goblin concept and fire dancing.
The 'Comedy seminar' held on the 28th featured in-depth discussions with entertainment culture specialist reporter Seo Byung-gi, Oh Se-jun, professor of musical entertainment at Dongsuh University, and entertainment writer Kwak Sang-won.
Professor Oh Se-jun said productive discussions were held to further advance K-comedy spreading across the world. He said the global spread of K-content is becoming concrete, and writer Kwak Sang-won cited last season's 'ShortBox' as an example of expanding content into a performance format, expressing the wish, "I hope the IP of content that only circles around inside YouTube will be expanded." Reporter Seo Byung-gi emphasized that professional personnel responsible for planning, producing and distributing comedy must be trained in diverse ways.
Continuing so hotly, 'Bukope' will conclude on the 30th. The closing performance, 'I am a dog singer,' will splendidly wrap up the festival's grand journey.
