Im Hyun-sik recalled memories of losing money in stocks.
On the 29th broadcast of MBN 'Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night' (hereafter Day and Night), Im Hyun-sik and Hwang Seok-jung appeared.
Im Hyun-sik said to Hwang Seok-jung, "You have to know how to live in the world. You should invest in stocks." When asked whether he had made money from stocks, Im Hyun-sik laughed heartily.
Im Hyun-sik opened up, "Was it 25 years ago? I bought companies that make ships. I bought them and thought, 'something will happen,' and forgot about them." He continued, "I forgot about them and later wondered, 'what happened?' When I looked at the newspaper, what I bought for 10,000 won had become 2,500 won," which drew sympathy.
Im Hyun-sik said, "I thought it wasn't for me. About 2 to 3 years ago, a friend at a securities company told me to buy some electric stock. He said it would probably be fine going forward. I went to the bank to withdraw money and bought it. I bought it at 250,000 won per share," revealing he challenged stocks once more.
He said, "It kept going down slowly for a year. I thought something terrible would happen. Two years ago I took a loss and sold out. Later it became a frenzy. The red light came on. That electric company's 250,000 won stock rose to 2,700,000 won," which drew sighs.
Im Hyun-sik said, "I thought, 'what's the use of someone like me being alive?'" certifying his Midas touch in the negative and drawing laughter.
