'EXchange / Transit Love4' Hong Ji-yeon confessed to having had rhinoplasty and shared her surgical experience.

That day, Hong Ji-yeon took time to directly answer subscribers' questions. She said, "The question I got the most was really about my nose. Yes. I have a fake nose. You may have noticed, but even when I was on the show my nose was already done. Many people asked when I had a revision surgery. But I didn't have a revision. I had it done once. People think my nose during the show and my nose now look a bit different because of swelling. The show was filmed a little over four months after my nose surgery. So I think people assumed I had a revision, but I only had it done once. Still, it is a fake nose," she admitted to having had rhinoplasty.
She continued, "Some of you might be curious what I looked like before my nose surgery. The photos I submitted after I broke up with (Kim Woo-jin) oppa were probably all before-surgery photos. Anyway, when we filmed the show it had been a little over four months since the surgery, so I thought all the swelling had gone down and I wasn't too worried. The reason I thought that was because I had the cast removed a week after the surgery. After removing the cast and coming home, I really cried a lot. The swelling was so bad I told oppa, 'This is a medical accident,'" she recounted the situation during the surgery.
Kim Woo-jin also said, "I said, 'I'll sue you,' and she said, 'I'll help you.'" Hong Ji-yeon said, "I went with oppa to remove the cast. The hospital was crowded, so they just removed the cast and took out the stitches without checking the nose, and I thought, 'This is so refreshing. I feel like I can live without the cotton in my nose.' I went home and looked in the mirror and, no lie, my nose was really more than one-ninth gone. When you divide the face into three parts, my nose was this small. I was so shocked I searched everywhere—cafes, blogs, YouTube—wondering if anyone had swelling like mine. There are quite a few people who vlog their nose surgery recovery, but even after searching I couldn't find anyone with swelling as severe as mine," she revealed.
She said, "I looked that up every night and cried a lot. Why did my face look like this after the surgery? The swelling was much worse than I imagined, so even the nose you saw on the show, while it still looked like a nose, looked like a person's nose. A lot of the swelling had gone down, so I thought it was all gone." Then Kim Woo-jin said, "On days three to four after the surgery she looked very pretty. She looked so different from how I imagined someone else would. I thought, 'This seems like there isn't much swelling left.' The bruising even turned a cute yellow," he said, describing her condition before the cast was removed.
Hong Ji-yeon said, "Each hospital is different, and they put a very thick cast on me so I couldn't see the real nose, but oppa said it looked good so I wanted to take the cast off quickly," expressing her excitement, and Kim Woo-jin said, "It really looked like that. You looked prettier, so I was happy too. I said nice and removed the cast, but I was also surprised. You were so upset I had nothing to say. I didn't know what to tell you."
Hong Ji-yeon said, "I thought the world was collapsing. And the clinic was the one where an acquaintance had her nose done, and that woman looked so good. From one month I begged that the swelling not go down. Because as the swelling went down a lot, it looked lower than the height I wanted, so I hoped it would not decrease so much, but mine was too severe. The reviews I read before surgery showed only beautiful before-and-after differences and satisfied reviews, but when I looked harder for swelling and side effects I found there were really many side effects. I had taken it too lightly," she regretted.
She added, "When they removed the cast, there was a lot of bruising and only the bridge was slightly swollen. They said if a hematoma forms, blood can pool and create unevenness and bruising. If a hematoma forms, you can draw the blood out with an injection and solve it simply, but if it keeps recurring you have to remove the implant, wash it, and put it back in. I work and barely used my paid leave for the surgery. I went into shock, kept contacting the chief consultant and sending photos. Fortunately it wasn't that. I was worried about hematoma so I searched and found many people who had no choice but to have implants removed, and nose surgery isn't cheap. How much time and money is wasted. It was very hard. Among those who had revisions, some had the hematoma recur months later, and there were many frightening side effects, so I had difficult days," she said.
She continued, "If there are people who, like me, worry about swelling after nose surgery, swelling varies greatly from person to person. One friend who had a nose said the residual swelling continued for up to a year. I can see that too. When I compare my nose at four months with my nose at about a year and a half, they are very different. At four months, be glad if your nose looks like that. It looked like a human nose. But looking now, it's definitely different. Even now my nose is large among my facial features. But I originally had a large nose. Because my nose was large before, it doesn't feel like the surgery made it larger. It did get higher, but it was originally wide," she explained.
Meanwhile, web designer Hong Ji-yeon gained recognition by appearing on the TVING original EXchange / Transit Love4 and is active as an influencer. She reunited as a final couple with her former boyfriend and chef Kim Woo-jin, who appeared on the show with her, and they are currently publicly dating.
