Hollywood actor Tom Hardy made his official debut as a rapper.
On the 28th (local time), according to U.S. outlets including Variety, Tom Hardy transformed into a rapper under the name 'Frankie Pulitzer' on the 27th and released a rap album.
The album released by Tom Hardy, 'Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer (차페이스 미츠 프랭키 퓰리처)', is a collaboration with the hip-hop group Czarface, and features appearances by Busta Rhymes, Method Man and EL-P.
The 15-track album features Busta Rhymes, Method Man and EL-P as guest artists, and drew attention for lyrics that include references to Marvel, Martin Scorsese, Stephen King and Titanic.
In particular, it has drawn attention because it also includes a Shakespearean soliloquy read in his 'Bane' voice. On track 6, 'Grim-Visaged War,' Tom Hardy recites the famous soliloquy from Richard III in the voice of the famous supervillain Bane, whom he played in the film 'The Dark Knight Rises' ("Now is the winter of our discontent...").
Elsewhere, the lyrics include a shot aimed at actor-turned-rapper Mark Wahlberg (aka Marky Mark). "Break your bars with a bottle / and I / like a famous Calvin Klein model / leave a mark on your face and deface it (Mark)."
Earlier, Tom Hardy cited Busta Rhymes as one of the people who inspired his character's distinctive raspy voice. In an interview with BBC Radio 1, he said, "I mixed a bit of Busta Rhymes, Method Man and Redman, James Brown a little, and added a touch of Richard Burton."
