Singer Kim Jang Hoon and Choi Yeon-hwa delivered hope and comfort through song.
Kim Jang Hoon and Choi Yeon-hwa held a charity concert, "Beautiful companionship," on the 27th at The Catholic University of Korea Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital G-floor auditorium.
The second concert following last year filled the auditorium with a wide range of audience members from their teens to their 80s, including patients, their families, medical staff and local residents.
When Choi Yeon-hwa passionately sang "Ososo," an elderly female audience member clasped her hands, wiped away tears and applauded, raising the mood in the hall. In the lively trot medley that followed, audience members rose from their seats and danced together, creating a festive atmosphere.
Kim Jang Hoon captivated the audience with his distinctive stage manner and passionate vocals. When he sang his signature song "If you live," the entire audience sang in unison, and standing ovations and explosive cheers erupted after each song.
The two also calmly shared personal childhood illnesses to create empathy, and communicated through music for a warm, healing time.
