Actor Sul Kyung-gu revealed ties to Kim Min-ha and Jeon Somi, surprising many.
On the 27th the YouTube channel 'Netflix Korea' (hereinafter 'Netflix') uploaded a video titled "Don't clip your nails and throw them anywhere. Your life will change. | We did come to promote Mousetrap, though."
On that day, the lead actors of the Netflix series Mousetrap, Ryu Jun-yeol and Sul Kyung-gu, appeared to promote the work. Yoo Byungjae and Jonathan, who greeted the two, wondered during the conversation how they were connected to actress Kim Min-ha.
To this, Sul Kyung-gu said, "I wasn't advising her to debut, I'm close with Kim Min-ha's parents," and added, "We were hanging out at a karaoke once and Min-ha briefly came and sang. She was so good. A shy kid who had no confidence sang so well that I said, 'Make her an actress.'"
Kim Min-ha's parents discouraged it, saying, 'She's a high school senior, what are you talking about.' Sul Kyung-gu said, "Still, I said, 'She has incredible talent,'" and added, "(Kim Min-ha) entered the department of theater and film and eventually became my junior."
He went on to say, "Jeon Somi is also close with my father, so she used to come over to our house since elementary school and I have seen her since she was a baby," and explained, "But she was bright and very talented. She was curious about everything and her eyes sparkled."
Sul Kyung-gu said, "Somi's father kept sending me recordings of Somi singing. After hearing them I said, 'Make her a singer,'" and joked, "He kept throwing them at me and it was just a lucky break," drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, Mousetrap is a chase thriller that follows novelist Moon Jae, who had his name, face and life completely stolen by the mysterious entity Mousetrap; loan shark No-ja, who tries to recover lost money; and detective Sun-yong as they pursue the identity of Mousetrap. It was released on the 28th.
