Actor Kim Soo-hyun will make a long-awaited return to an official domestic event, signaling his comeback.
On the 28th, The Fact Co. Music Awards (THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS, TMA) organizing committee officially announced that Kim Soo-hyun will attend the 2026 The Fact Co. Music Awards as a presenter on Sept. 19 at Busan Asiad Main Stadium.
Debuting in 2007 on MBC's "kimchi cheese smile," Kim Soo-hyun went on to star in KBS2's Dream High, MBC's The Moon Embracing the Sun, the film The Thieves, My Love from the Star, and tvN's Queen of Tears, where he set the record for the highest viewership (24.9%) for a tvN Saturday-Sunday drama, establishing himself as an irreplaceable global top actor.
However, in March last year, Kim Soo-hyun was hit hard after being swept up in an unexpected controversy over allegations of dating while a minor. At the time, Kim Soo-hyun's side emphasized that the relationship occurred after he was an adult and took a firm legal stance against the spread of false information. It was eventually revealed that the KakaoTalk conversations and voice recordings used in the exposé had been tampered with and manipulated using AI technology, and the person who raised the allegations was detained and indicted, clearing Kim Soo-hyun's name after about a year.
He also delivered an initial legal victory. On the 27th, the 13th Civil Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court dismissed a claim by advertiser Mido for the return of roughly 570 million won in contract payments against Kim Soo-hyun and his agency Gold Medalist, ruling in Kim Soo-hyun's favor. Winning the first court ruling among several brands that filed lawsuits seeking return of modeling fees has brightened the outlook for upcoming trials.
Recently, Kim Soo-hyun, who restarted activities with an ad shoot and social media activity for Filipino fashion brand Bench, will meet domestic fans in person as a presenter at the 2026 The Fact Co. Music Awards following a live appearance on Indonesian broadcaster RCTI's 37th anniversary broadcast.
Having washed away all injustice and spread his wings again, Hallyu star Kim Soo-hyun is expected to captivate the attention of fans around the world with his appearance at this domestic official event.
