A24's new romantic thriller 'The drama,' which has been drawing movie fans' anticipation, unveiled a striking main poster that caught the eye.
"The drama," which opens on Sep. 9 (Wed), is a romantic thriller film about a happy couple preparing for their wedding who confess hidden pasts to each other, sending the perfect wedding week they dreamed of into unpredictable chaos.
The released main poster forms a stark contrast with earlier posters that showed the happy couple and draws attention. It features Emma (played by Zendaya) wearing a bold orange puffer over a pure white wedding dress and Charlie (played by Robert Pattinson) wearing a navy jumper over a tuxedo stained with blood.
Emma, holding a bouquet and looking off into the distance with a dissatisfied expression, and Charlie, his face battered and bruised, create a mangled visual that, combined with the ironic wedding invitation phrase "Save the Date," delivers a peculiar tension. Curiosity grows about the anxiety and the sequence of events hidden behind the perfect moments of engagement and marriage.
'The drama,' which created buzz simply from the meeting of Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, was written and directed by Christopher Bogle, who showed a distinctive sensibility in the black comedy genre. Ari Aster, who built a unique universe through producing films such as "Hereditary" and "Midsommar," joined the production, promising the birth of an even more unpredictable and intense romantic thriller.
