The actors' house at the 31st Busan International Film Festival will include actors Shin Mina, Kim Go-eun, Ju Jihoon and Lee Minho.
The actors' house, the Busan International Film Festival's signature program, meets audiences this year with an even stronger lineup.
Since its inception in 2021, the actors' house, which has received much love every year, is a special talk program in which contemporary representative actors who combine acting ability and star power look back on their filmographies and candidly and deeply share their acting philosophies and unknown behind-the-scenes stories. This year it has announced meetings with six actors in total — Kim Go-eun, Kim Min-ha, Ryu Seung-ryong, Shin Mina, Lee Minho and Ju Jihoon — generating expectations.
First, actor Kim Go-eun, who has proven an unparalleled presence across film and television with a wide acting spectrum, will visit the actors' house. He made a striking debut with "Eun-gyo" (2012) and captivated the public with performances that perfectly embodied characters in works such as "Chinatown" (2015), "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" (2016) and "Love in the Big City" (2024). Having earned the title of a 10-million-attendance actor with "Exhuma" (2024), he continued vigorous activity with "You and Everything Else" (2025), "The Price of Confession" (2025) and the "Yumi's Cells" (2021, 2022, 2026) series. Through this visit to Busan, Kim Go-eun will look back on her acting life with a variety of characters and have a special time with audiences.
Kim Min-ha, who will serve as the sole host of this year's Busan International Film Festival opening ceremony and who visits Busan as the lead of the opening film "Day and Night Are to Each Other" (2026) and the on-screen selection "Perfect Job" (2026), will take the stage as another leading figure of the actors' house. He shot to global attention with "Pachinko" (2022, 2024) and displayed dense emotional acting through works such as "Light Shop" (2024), "Typhoon Family" (2025) and "Hana Korea" (2026). At the actors' house, actor Kim Min-ha, who has infinite potential to lead Korean cinema, will frankly discuss his own approach to works and characters as well as his growth and challenges as an actor.
Actor Ryu Seung-ryong, who always moves audiences with performances that deliver both emotion and humor, will also take the actors' house stage. Having built a solid position through numerous representative works such as "War of the Arrows" (2011), "All About My Wife" (2012), "Miracle in Cell No.7" (2013), "Extreme Job" (2019) and "Life Is Beautiful" (2022), he drew deep public empathy with realistic character acting in the drama "The Dream Life of Mr. Kim" (2025). With this work he won the Baeksang Arts Awards grand prize in the broadcast category in 2026, once again proving he is a trusted representative actor. Ahead of the release of "Jeongga's" (2026), selected for Korean Cinema Today — Special Premiere, he will share at the actors' house his acting philosophy that has created three-dimensional characters and the serious passion hidden behind it.
Actor Shin Mina, who has shown a new side in every work from lovable romantic comedies to suspense thrillers, will visit Busan to meet audiences. He showed deep genre acting in "The Devil" (2007) and won great public love with numerous hits such as "My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho" (2010), "My Love, My Bride" (2014) and "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" (2021). He then challenged intense characters and genres in films such as "Diva" (2020), "Bad Relationship" (2025) and "Pupil" (2026), showing even deeper acting depth. He again draws expectations as the lead of the on-screen selection "The Remarried Empress" (2026). At this actors' house, Shin Mina will share the passionate devotion to new characters and the arduous journey of intense reflection that will captivate audiences.
Actor Lee Minho, who imprinted himself on viewers worldwide with the global hit "Pachinko" (2022, 2024), will meet audiences in Busan. He rose to the center of the Korean wave with "Boys Over Flowers" (2009) and proved solid acting ability by taking his first screen leading role in "Gangnam 1970" (2015) and winning the Best New Actor award at the Grand Bell Awards. Since then, through daring challenges in works including "The Legend of the Blue Sea" (2016), "The King : Eternal Monarch" (2020), "Omniscient Reader: The Prophet" (2025) and the upcoming "Assassin(s)" (2026), Lee Minho will use this actors' house to look back on his challenges and transformations to date and talk about the direction and concerns he will pursue as an actor.
Actor Ju Jihoon, who shows an irreplaceable aura in works such as "Kingdom" (2019, 2020) and "The Trauma Code: Heroes on call" (2025), joins the actors' house. He began to attract public attention with "Princess Hours" (2006) and led consecutive 10-million-attendance hits with the "Along with the Gods" (2017, 2018) series. Through striking and talked-about works such as "Asura: The City of Madness" (2016), "The Spy Gone North" (2018) and "Believer" (2018), he proved unique character interpretation ability and firmly established himself as a representative Korean actor across film and drama. Having hinted at a new transformation with the on-screen selection "The Remarried Empress" (2026), he will look back at his journey of building a distinct acting color and create special memories with audiences at the actors' house.
Meanwhile, the 31st Busan International Film Festival will hold its opening ceremony on Oct. 6 and run through the 15th across Busan's Haeundae and Nampo-dong areas.
The opening film is Kim Jong-kwan's "Day and Night Are to Each Other," which depicts the pleasant, unadorned and lovable conversations of four pairs of men and women who crossed paths in a single café during the seasonal transition from summer to autumn. It stars Kim Min-ha, Joo Jong-hyuk, Han Sun-hwa, Chang Ryul, Shim Eunkyung, Lee Heejun, Jeon Soyoung and Kim Dong-hwi.
