Actor Hong Min-gi's side has filed a criminal complaint against ex-girlfriend A, who has continued to expose his private life, and has taken a restraining measure, moving forward with legal action.
Hong Min-gi's agency, Fable Company, issued an official statement on the 27th, saying it filed complaints with investigative authorities on the 21st and 24th against A on charges including forgery of private documents, attempted extortion, defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and violation of the anti-stalking law.
The agency said it will "faithfully comply with future investigative procedures," adding, "We believe the substantive truth of the case and legal responsibility will be clearly identified through the investigation." It also urged restraint so unverified claims or content contrary to the facts do not spread indiscriminately.
According to the agency, around 2 a.m. on the 23rd, A went to Hong Min-gi's home in Itaewon, Seoul, rang the doorbell, and caused a disturbance by crying loudly or using abusive language. Police and paramedics were dispatched, and A was immediately transported.
That same day, under the anti-stalking law, police ordered A not to approach within 100 meters of Hong Min-gi and prohibited any approach using telecommunication, such as by phone or text message.
Earlier, A disclosed related details, claiming that while dating Hong Min-gi, she was assaulted, including by having a soju bottle thrown. She later added a claim that she underwent an abortion in July and would disclose medical records, among other things.
Hong Min-gi's side acknowledged that the two dated but has refuted the dating violence allegations as untrue. It argued instead that A did not accept the intent to break up and continued to contact or visit the home, and it had warned of legal action.
