"You Quiz on the Block" Song Kang said he was once offered to be an idol.
On the 26th broadcast of the tvN variety show "You Quiz on the Block" (hereafter "You Quiz"), actor Song Kang appeared.
That day Song Kang said about his parents' reactions to his acting, "My mother said, 'What acting? Someone as introverted as you should just learn a skill.' On the other hand, my father said if you like it, do it right away."
Encouraged by his father's support, Song Kang, who enrolled in an acting academy, said, "I had to act in front of the students, but I was so shy that I kept smiling, and every time I went home I wondered, 'Is it right to keep doing this?' Even so, I didn't want to give up," revealing his persistence about acting.
Later Song Kang enrolled in Konkuk University's film and arts department. At that time he said he was offered to be an idol. Yu Jae-seok praised his looks, exclaiming, "idol center award."
However Song Kang said, "I can't sing or dance," and said he declined the idol offer. In fact, in a fan meeting video Song Kang showed a down-to-earth side, awkwardly singing and dancing, drawing attention.
Meanwhile, in his third year after debut Song Kang recalled being cast in Love Alarm after beating out competition of 900 to 1, saying, "At that time I think I was just bold and confident," as he remembered the audition.
He added, "I thought the other person would pass, but at that time I was at the dermatologist. When I received the acceptance call my heart raced for the first time. I was so happy even when I went home."
Afterwards, with consecutive successes up through the "Sweet Home" series, Song Kang said, "I bought a car for my father. It was very nice. I also gave allowance to my parents. I thought I should do better and be filial."
