Singer-actor IU drew a witty line at her younger brother's wish to make more money than her.
On the 26th, in a video released on her YouTube channel "이지금 [IU Official]," IU went out with the production staff and her younger brother to watch a meteor shower.
While waiting for shooting stars and talking about wishes, her younger brother said, "My wish is to make more money than you." IU immediately trailed off, saying, "Eh, in this lifetime…," effectively reacting that it was impossible.
IU then joked, "I was just talking with the production staff about parallel worlds," adding, "In some world, there could be Hooni who makes more money than me." She added that in such a world, her brother might not call her "noona," but could even say "hey."
A moment later, when IU asked again about his wish, her younger brother answered, "Didn't I say it earlier?" IU added to the laughter by firmly saying again, "Still, you have to make a wish that a star can grant. No."
IU is known to have received about 20 billion won from her agency in 2023. She is also reported to own real estate worth over 20 billion won in total, including in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, and in Gwacheon and Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
