"The Long Shot Trial" spoke out about reports that filming would end in September.
On the 26th, SBS's The Long Shot Trial said, "As before, we are continuing internal discussions."
They added, "Considering the practical conditions that require minimizing harm to numerous staff and cast, we are coordinating the remaining essential schedules from various angles, and we ask for your broad understanding that it is difficult to provide specific confirmation regarding detailed filming matters."
Earlier, one outlet reported that SBS's The Long Shot Trial was expected to finish filming on Sept. 3 without Ha-young's departure. According to the report, unlike most dramas that hold a so-called "wrap party" on the last day of filming, The Long Shot Trial had not yet set a date.
The Long Shot Trial is a lighthearted, comic legal detective story about a ragtag law office led by former lawyer and current office manager Kwon Baek (played by Lee Je-hoon) that turns hopeless cases into winnable ones in ways the world has never seen, and it is actor Ha-young's next project.
However, recently Ha-young faced controversy over allegations of her great-grandfather Ahn Sang-ho's pro-Japanese actions. Initially Ha-young said the ancestor's alleged pro-Japanese actions were "groundless," but as the controversy grew she acknowledged the pro-Japanese actions and apologized as a descendant.
Regarding this, SBS said, "We are taking the recent matter related to the cast member very seriously," and "We are currently carefully discussing this with the production company and those involved from multiple angles." They added, "We will inform the public through official channels as soon as decisions are made."
