Claims have emerged that TV personality Park Soo-hong boarded a plane bound for Guam with his family, said they would get off, then reboarded, delaying the aircraft's departure by about an hour.
On the 26th, a post on an online community said a Korean Air Lines passenger jet scheduled to depart for Guam from Incheon International Airport on the 23rd left about an hour late because Park Soo-hong's family reversed their decision about boarding.
According to the poster, when Park Soo-hong's child kept crying, the family told the airline they would get off the plane. In line with passenger offboarding procedures, staff began unloading the checked baggage that had already been loaded.
After the child stopped crying, Park Soo-hong's family said they would board again, and the poster claimed the airline accepted this, leading to the baggage being reloaded.
The poster also released photos showing airline employees handling baggage and Park Soo-hong, with his daughter in a baby carrier, listening to an employee's explanation.
Online, some reacted by saying, "Weren't they trying to get off so as not to inconvenience other passengers because of the child?" while others criticized, "The problem lies with the airline allowing reboarding after the offboarding process had begun."
One netizen who said they were on the same flight said, "The child cried a lot, and Park Soo-hong's family also tried hard," adding, "They apologized multiple times at the scene."
