Wonder Girls alumna Hyerim revealed the secret to her eldest son Siwoo's English education.
Hyerim said on the 25th via her son Shin Siwoo's social media, "Because I consistently used English in daily life, the child has now begun to speak a little in English."
She went on to emphasize that steady exposure is important even if there is no immediate reaction from the child. Hyerim said, "The English I have been exposing him to was being steadily accumulated inside the child," and explained, "You don't have to be too impatient. Once enough input accumulates, at some point it naturally leads to output." She also added hashtags such as "mom-taught English" and "homeschooling English."
Earlier, Siwoo attracted attention on KBS 2TV The Return of SUPERMAN by using not only Korean but also English and Chinese. He drew notice for a linguistic sense resembling Hyerim, who graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies' interpretation and translation department and is fluent in multiple languages.
Meanwhile, Hyerim married taekwondo athlete Shin Min-chul in 2020 after seven years of dating, and they have two sons.
