Actor Hong Dao, Ihara Tsuyoshi, and Stephanie Lee dive into a global gambling scene.
The final installment of the 'Tazza' series, Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub (director: Choi Guk-hee, distributor/provider: CJ ENM, provider/producer: Psyderus), announced a global gambling scene completely different from the previous series and revealed the new characters who arrange this game.
The film Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub is a crime movie in which Jang Tae-young (played by Byun Yo-Han), who thought he had the world after the online Big Bet business, and his close friend with the same name who took everything from him, Park Tae-young (played by Roh Jae Won), meet again on the global gambling stage and engage in a game of revenge.
This installment is constructed as a completely independent universe from parts 1, 2, and 3. The reason you can enjoy the final 'Tazza' even if you haven't seen the previous films is that it is set against a global gambling scene suited to the present day of 2026. Accordingly, Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub released still cuts of actors from Vietnam, Japan and Korea who join the global game to heighten interest in the film.
First, Vietnam's national actor Hong Dao plays the tycoon businessman Chairman Tao. Chairman Tao is a person who enjoys gambling and treats every choice as if it were a single game. Representing Vietnam, Hong Dao said, "When I was offered a role in a Korean film it was truly a great happiness and an honor." Having never handled cards, he learned the rules and how to hold chips from scratch, and said, "I practiced so much that even my family at home became used to the sounds of chips and cards."
Veteran Japanese actor Ihara Tsuyoshi plays Chairman Sasaki, who leads a Japanese corporation. He is a former yakuza who quietly sets up games, but the amounts he wagers are larger than anyone's. Ihara Tsuyoshi said that after receiving the offer he watched all three films in the series. "It was really fun, so I decided to participate," he said, adding that because he has recently often played benevolent roles, at the director's request he sent a clip of himself brushing his hair back.
Meanwhile, model and actor Stephanie Lee plays lobbyist Linda Park. Linda Park proposes a game with a tycoon to Jang Tae-young, who visits Vietnam, and arranges the behind-the-scenes deal. The alluring lobbyist role is expected to raise the film's tension and showcase the iconic fun of the 'Tazza' series.
Meanwhile, Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub opens on Sep. 23.
