KBS 2TV's new weekend miniseries A Love Other Than Yours revealed the bitter moment of fracture that visits the 10-year love between actors Seo Kang-jun and Ahn Eun-jin.
A Love Other Than Yours, a new KBS 2TV weekend miniseries premiering on Sept. 12 (directed by Hwang Seung-gi and Lee Ga-ram, written by Yoo Soo-ji, produced by UNI CHEM), is a realistic, relatable romantic drama about a couple in their 10th year of dating whose most familiar lover faces unfamiliar feelings. Earlier, it drew attention by showing the comfortable and thrilling daily life of a long-term couple of 10 years, including matching couple T-shirts and back hugs.
But in the stills released today (the 26th), the mood is completely reversed. It captured Namgung-ho (played by Seo Kang-jun) and Lee Mi-do (played by Ahn Eun-jin), who are standing in the same space but looking at each other with chillier gazes than before.
In the stills, Namgung-ho looks at Lee Mi-do while trying to swallow complex, painful emotions, and Lee Mi-do also faces him with trembling eyes. The silent exchange of their gazes, as if they might burst into tears at any moment, conveys suffocating tension and a clear difference in temperature. It raises curiosity about how the most fundamental emotions and realistic conversations that only long-term lovers can share will unfold.
In particular, the lines in the previously released teaser video — Namgung-ho shouting, "How can it be the same as before!" and Lee Mi-do confessing, "Your kind of love makes me feel shabby" — directly pierce the dilemma of long-term relationships in reality. The undercurrents of love remain, but the emotional temperature changes, and the heart once believed to be consideration turns into a burden; the series will delicately depict that irony.
The production team of A Love Other Than Yours said they intend to realistically portray the changes in relationships and emotional temperature over time rather than anyone's fault, delivering the unvarnished reality of romance that any long-term couple will nod to.
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's new weekend miniseries A Love Other Than Yours will air its first episode on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 9:20 p.m. and will be available to viewers in more than 240 countries worldwide via the global streaming service Amazon Prime Video simultaneously with the domestic broadcast.
