TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) set a new record on major Japanese music charts.
On Aug. 26, Oricon reported that TOMORROW X TOGETHER (Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, Hueningkai)'s fifth Japanese single title track 'Setsuna Hanabi' (セツナハナビ/세츠나하나비) ranked No. 1 on the latest weekly digital single ranking (Aug. 31 issue/aggregation period: Aug. 17–23). This is the first time TOMORROW X TOGETHER has topped this chart. In addition, first-week downloads totaled 8,410, far exceeding the group's previous best of 5,682 for the single 'CHIKAI' (誓い/치카이) title track 'We'll Never Change.' During the same period it also placed high on the weekly combined single ranking (No. 2), weekly single ranking (No. 2) and weekly streaming ranking (No. 6).
Also, on the latest Hot 100 released on Aug. 26 (aggregation period: Aug. 17–23), the team reached No. 1 for the first time, and swept major music charts such as hot shot song and download song. It also charted on top single sales (No. 2) and streaming song (No. 22). On Line Music's weekly song chart (aggregation period: Aug. 19–25), it ranked No. 2.
'Setsuna Hanabi' is a song that likens the inevitable moment of parting to fireworks on a midsummer night heading toward the end. The raw texture and the five members' delicate emotional expressions blend to amplify the song's mood.
Interest in the new release's track 'Silence' is also high; the song was chosen as the theme song for the movie 'Okiharu-kun no Namida o Koroshite' (沖晴KUんの涙を殺して), which opens in Japan on Oct. 2. The film, based on Mio Nukaoka's novel of the same name, depicts the story of a music teacher given a terminal diagnosis and a high school student who has had their emotions taken away. The movie trailer released on Aug. 25 includes a highlight of 'Silence,' increasing anticipation.
'Silence' is a song that combines the five members' poignant, pleading vocal tones with intense guitar sounds. In particular, the chorus, which rings out like a powerful shout, leaves a deep resonance and has earned the approval of music fans.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER has been actively promoting locally around the release of the new record. On Aug. 19 they met about 6,000 audience members with a premium live stage held at Tokyo Garden Theater. They will expand contact with local fans by appearing on TV Asahi's Music Station on Aug. 28, NHK's Venue101 on Aug. 29 and TBS's CDTV Live! Live! on Aug. 31.
Meanwhile, TOMORROW X TOGETHER won the Best International Group of the Year - Male award at the 2026 TME Live International Music Awards held at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium on Aug. 22.
