Comedian Jung Cheol-gyu, who gained popularity as 'Blanka,' said he was bullied for six years by a senior comedian, and when speculation continued he spoke out himself.
On the 25th, a video was posted on Miki Kwangsoo's YouTube channel titled 'Specially recruited comedian Blanka!! Stories not told on the broadcast!!'
That day Miki Kwangsoo, referring to Jung Cheol-gyu mentioning harassment in the comedy world on 'Namu Miki detective agency,' began by saying, "There have even been some recent articles."
Earlier, Jung Cheol-gyu confessed that he had endured verbal abuse from a senior for six years. At the time he said, "That senior must have hated me. Every time he came into the meeting room he told me not to stand out and said things like he would kill me. He did this for six years. It was very hard."
Although Park Joonhyung, Shin Bong-Sun, and Ahn Young-mi, who witnessed Jung Cheol-gyu being bullied, offered help, the harassment continued. The perpetrator's name was not revealed in the video, but netizens continued to speculate.
In response, Jung Cheol-gyu explained, "There have been a lot of articles, and many comedians called me. About 20 people contacted me asking who it was. Two close associates kept asking, so I told only those two, and to the others I said it was a thing of the past. That person has to live too."
He said the person in question is not currently active on broadcasts or YouTube. Miki Kwangsoo noted, "Even if we say who it is, many people don't know comedians well," and Jung Cheol-gyu complained, "KBS comedians know, but other broadcasters might not. After the broadcast, there were comments repeatedly saying it was Ryu Dam, Kim Jin-cheol senior, or even Noh Woo-jin — people saying it was those three."
Jung Cheol-gyu added, "It's not three people. First, Dami hyung has never had a conversation with me. And Jincheol hyung is close to me and I still see him sometimes. And Woojin is junior to me. And a friend. I hope there are no unnecessary misunderstandings."
