Singer-songwriter Kim Dong-ryul will this fall, for the first time since his debut, hold a solo concert without an orchestra, taking on a musical challenge.
Kim Dong-ryul on the 25th announced the solo concert '2026 Kim Dong-ryul concert "Old song"' directly through his official social media channels, heightening fans' expectations.
In particular, this performance is drawing attention because, including his time with Jeonramhoe, it will be the first in Kim Dong-ryul's performance history to be presented as a "stage without an orchestra." Having built his own distinctive signature concert brand with grand and rich full orchestra sounds, Kim Dong-ryul is breaking the typical mold and previewing a stage that focuses solely on voice and band sound.
Kim Dong-ryul said on social media, "I still like brilliant and grand epic styles, but I wanted at least once to step out of the typical style and try a sparer concert configuration," and confessed, "It feels like going into the battlefield without a sword or shield, so it may be a more difficult challenge, but I gathered the courage before it was too late."
Accordingly, this stage will reveal in large numbers hidden gems of shorter piece styles that he has not often been able to play because of the large orchestra arrangements. Also, the dedicated backing band YulBand, which has long worked with him and boasts unique skill, will take center stage with a perfect live performance.
Kim Dong-ryul expressed confidence, saying, "If you are someone who preferred album tracks that were overlooked rather than my hits, or if you liked the 2019 'Old song' performance, you can look forward to this."
Earlier, Kim Dong-ryul drew 60,000 people with six performances of 'Melody' in 2023 and 70,000 people with seven performances of 'Stroll' in 2025.
