'The Trauma Code: Heroes on call' original author writer Lee Nak-jun revealed everything from the progress of season 2 to his thoughts on casting for his next work.
On the 24th broadcast, KBS2 Malja Show was presented as a special on the world of occupations, and Lee Nak-jun, the original web novel author of the Netflix series The Trauma Code: Heroes on call, appeared as a guest. Lee Nak-jun, a former otorhinolaryngology specialist, writes web novels under the pen name 'Hansaniga' and also works as a YouTuber with 1.42 million subscribers.
That day Lee Nak-jun introduced himself as "a 10-year writer who writes web novels under the nickname Hansaniga," and the MCs mentioned The Trauma Code: Heroes on call, which starred Ju Jihoon and became popular, noting that many viewers are waiting for season 2 and season 3, and asked about the progress of the follow-up seasons. In response, Lee Nak-jun said, "We are looking for locations for season 2 filming" and "Filming will probably start in October this year," raising expectations.
Meanwhile, another work's screen adaptation was also accelerating after the success of The Trauma Code: Heroes on call. In particular, referring to his internal medicine–themed web novel A.I. Doctor, he said, "The contract is going well, and drama production is currently under way," and when casting was mentioned the atmosphere at the site heated up further. When a fan in the audience shouted, "Please pick Kim Seon-ho," Lee Nak-jun replied, "I also like actor Kim Seon-ho, but he is not the right age," drawing laughter. The reason was that the protagonist in the work is a relatively young character.
So who did Lee Nak-jun think of for the role? He said, "Personally, I like actor Lee Dohyun or actor Song Kang," attracting attention. However, this was merely Lee Nak-jun's personal preference and does not mean that actual casting has been confirmed.
After revealing the shooting plans for the follow-up season of The Trauma Code: Heroes on call and the drama adaptation of A.I. Doctor, interest is growing in whether he will lead another wave of "medical dramas" following the original's success.
