Model and broadcaster Lee Hyun-i says she considered moving to Dongtan to follow her Samsung husband.
The MBC program Where is My Home airing on the 27th features Lee Hyun-i, Lee Hye-jung and Kim Sook visiting Dongtan.
That day, the three set out on a site visit to Dongtan, a residential area drawing attention as a key hinterland for the semiconductor industry. Dongtan has attracted much interest, ranking first in cumulative APT. price growth in the first half of 2026.
Lee Hyun-i said that because her husband works as an engineer in the semiconductor institutional sector at Samsung Electronics, she once came on a site visit considering living in Dongtan.
The three visit the 'Han' among the 'three top Dongtan APT.s' in Dongtan 2 New Town: U·Po·Han. The location offers walking distance access to Dongtan Station and a department store, and it even has an unobstructed view that includes the golf course Lee Hye-jung said she often visits, drawing admiration.
It was reported that elementary, middle and high school students make up about 15.9% of Dongtan's population and that about 1,970 academies are registered in Dongtan, demonstrating intense educational zeal. Lee Hyun-i also mentioned the Dongtan academy district, adding to the discussion about the high level of educational enthusiasm.
Lee Hye-jung, who lives in Pyeongchang-dong, said she personally drives her son because his academy is far away, expressing envy at Dongtan's educational infrastructure that houses academy districts.
Meanwhile, the Dongtan New Town site visit episode of the MBC program Where is My Home will air Thursday the 27th at 10 p.m.
