Former group Roolla member Go Young-wook, who has recently been making unabashed critical remarks toward celebrities, revealed his current status.
On the 25th, Go Young-wook wrote on his social media, "As far as matters known to the public go, the fact that I cannot return to broadcasting will not change unless there is an unexpected development," adding, "I already enjoyed public love and popularity beyond my abilities in the past," and "Although I have various personal regrets, I accept them and live on.".
About his current life, he said, "I'm just a person who goes grocery shopping and cleans up the dogs' poop and pee at home, living as an ordinary small-town citizen."
Regarding his continued targeting of celebrities, he added, "I'm just posting my thoughts on X and diligent reporters are faithfully turning them into articles," and left the remark, "Stop acting recklessly and making a fuss and be faithful to your own daily lives."
Go Young-wook recently publicly targeted broadcaster Jang Do-youn on his social media. He referred to Jang Do-youn's active broadcasting schedule, saying, "If you flip through the TV, there's Jang Do-youn here and Jang Do-youn there," and invoked her appearance when she appeared on Gag Concert in the past. He went on, "I only remember the frivolous image of her dancing in a way that neither suited her nor was funny," and directly belittled her hosting ability and qualifications by asking, "Is there no MC like this?"
Go Young-wook's "public targeting" has not been a one-off but has continued in succession. Earlier, when singer Lee Ji Hye mentioned "minimalism" after moving from an 80-pyeong to a 49-pyeong apartment, he sneered, "49 pyeong is minimalism?" and added that she misunderstood minimalism, saying he would recommend books. He also captured a broadcast screen of singer Le Chanwon and criticized, "Stop being so distracting and focus on your main job as a trot singer," and mocked national MC Yu Jae-seok's active broadcasting by saying, "How much richer does he have to become to be satisfied?" Although he directly names others and evaluates their broadcasting activities, consumption habits and private lives, his comments have had little impact. The main reason lies in the lack of legitimacy on the part of the speaker. Go Young-wook was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for sex crimes against minors, served his sentence and was released in 2015, and is now effectively unable to work in the entertainment industry.
