Actor Shin Ye Eun became the 400th member of the Philanthropy Club, a group of major donors to Hope Friend Food for the Hungry, after being recognized for seven years of steady giving.
Hope Friend Food for the Hungry said on the 25th that Shin Ye Eun, who serves as an ambassador, was appointed as the 400th member of the Philanthropy Club. The Philanthropy Club is a group of individual donors who have donated or pledged at least 100 million won to Food for the Hungry.
Shin Ye Eun began her connection with Food for the Hungry in 2019 through sponsoring a child in Vietnam. Since then, she has continued regular support not only for children in Korea but also for children overseas in Ecuador, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Last year, she also delivered emergency relief funds under her fandom name, "Eunhasu," to help restore areas damaged by wildfires in Korea and support residents who lost their homes.
Shin Ye Eun said, "I am grateful that a small wish to help one child has led to joining the Philanthropy Club," adding, "I want to share the love I have received as an actor with my neighbors and help build a culture where more people take part in giving."
Shin Ye Eun plans to visit Mae Sot, a border city in northwestern Thailand, with Food for the Hungry next month to look into on-site education and self-reliance support for Myanmar refugees and migrants.
