Webtoon author Ryung's Naver Webtoon short "Joseon man X Millennials and Gen Z woman" was produced as a short drama and released through Lezhin Snack.
This video adaptation was made possible through ENA·Lifetime short drama director survival program "Directors Arena." "Directors Arena" is a program to discover short drama directors who can captivate viewers in a short time, and works developed through the program are produced as actual short dramas and released on Lezhin Snack.
The short drama "Joseon man X Millennials and Gen Z woman" is a romantic comedy that depicts the story of Joseon-era King Lee Hyun falling into the present and meeting Min-ji, a Millennials and Gen Z woman. It cheerfully unravels a relationship that transcends time and space, focusing on the clashes and romance between two people whose eras and values are completely different.
Director Yang Kyung-hee directed the work, and Ryung participated as the original author and adaptation writer, expanding the setting and characters of the original short to fit the short drama format.
The original "Joseon man X Millennials and Gen Z woman" was released in 2023 through Naver Webtoon's short works series "These days' love special)." Based on the premise of a Joseon-era man meeting a modern woman, it portrays differences in dating views and values by era as a romantic comedy.
Ryung said she was pleased that a work that started as a short piece had been produced as an actual video and added that she hopes viewers enjoy the unique fun of the short drama, which is different from the original.
Ryung serialized works such as "Murder Instagram," "Caution: Very handsome," "Sasaeng Idol," and "God Jangsan Beast" on Naver Webtoon, and is currently planning and developing original story IPs that can be expanded into webtoons and video content through Ryung Studio. The short drama "Joseon man X Millennials and Gen Z woman" can now be seen on Lezhin Snack.
