Actress Nam Bo-ra broke a sweat in her first experience with childcare.
On the 24th, a video titled "Why won't the day-one baby at home with Kongal sleep? When will he sleep? the start of night feedings" was uploaded to Nam Bo-ra's Life Theater.
That day, after being discharged from the Birthcare Center, Nam Bo-ra returned home with her son Kongal (pet name) and began full-scale childcare. But childcare was not easy from the start. During the first diaper change at home, Kongal burst into tears, and during a urine incident that occurred while changing the diaper, Nam Bo-ra panicked and did not know what to do.
He even put the diaper on backward and said, "Kongal, I'm sorry. Mom is a complete beginner. I'm really sorry. It's all mom's fault. It's all mom's fault," showing an anxious, unsettled demeanor.
That night the full-scale night feedings began, and Nam Bo-ra complained of fatigue, looking exhausted within half a day. The next morning, Nam Bo-ra continued childcare by switching shifts with her husband, who was exhausted from the night watch, looking like he had been beaten up. She begged, "Kongal, why won't you sleep?" and, after finally getting Kongal to sleep and laying him on the bed, hurriedly prepared a meal.
Nam Bo-ra said, "I have to eat something quickly. Before the baby wakes. I've entered the endless cycle of childcare," and her husband asked, "Didn't you have experience, Bora?" He is the eldest of 13 siblings and because he helped care for his younger siblings many times. Nam Bo-ra explained, "But when I was younger, if a baby cried I could ignore it and keep sleeping. I thought mom and dad would raise them. Then a parent would get up, feed them and go back to sleep."
Her husband admired, "Thirteen? That's amazing. I respect that. So you did night feedings for 13 people, 100 days each, 1,300 days total? That's incredible." When Kongal woke up again, Nam Bo-ra immediately ran over to soothe him and pleaded, "Can you give mom just one hour? Mom needs to shower and eat too."
Only in the afternoon, eating leftover tteokbokki to get by, Nam Bo-ra expressed empathy and bewilderment, saying, "This is really hard. Why won't the baby sleep? He definitely slept well when we were at the Birthcare Center. That's strange. It's 1 p.m. now and I haven't even showered and I finally had one meal. Why won't he sleep like that? Strange."
Through the video description, Nam Bo-ra reflected, "Now Kongal is approaching day 70. On day 70, finally rolling up Kongal day-one at home vlog... Watching it again now, my husband and I really can't take care of a baby, haha. We're so clumsy, hahahaha. I used to pride myself that I had some experience with babies, but I'm painfully realizing I was just a know-it-all, haha. Our Kongal suffered a lot meeting inexperienced parents when he was a newborn."
Meanwhile, Nam Bo-ra married a non-celebrity businessman of the same age in May last year and welcomed her first son in June.
