The production team that has been running actor Jeon Won-ju's YouTube channel suddenly announced a halt in production, raising curiosity about the reason.
On the 24th, a notice in the name of the existing production team was posted in the YouTube channel 'Jeon Won-ju_Jeon Won-ju main' community. The production team said, "We are very grateful for all the support and interest you have shown our production team," and "We inform you that the production team that has produced and operated the channel from its launch until now will no longer produce the Jeon Won-ju main channel."
They continued, "Thanks to our subscribers and to teacher Jeon Won-ju, our entire production team spent a joyful and happy year," and expressed their gratitude. However, the notice did not include the specific reason for stopping production or the future direction of operation, which sparked curiosity.
In particular, because there had recently been continuing concerns about Jeon Won-ju's health, this news attracted even more attention. Previously, Jeon Won-ju had candidly shared on a broadcast her fear of declining memory. Recalling an experience in which a close friend did not recognize her, she voiced worries about dementia, and during testing signs of cognitive decline and some brain atrophy were found, leading a specialist to diagnose mild cognitive impairment.
A video of a July trip to Jeju with Sunwoo Yong-yeo also drew attention. At the time, Jeon Won-ju lost a ring and could not find it for a while, and while in Jeju she momentarily seemed to mistake it for Seoul or the Chungcheong region. The video portrayed the two's lively banter, but some viewers, in light of the previously released test results, expressed concern about Jeon Won-ju's health. However, it is not possible to determine whether dementia is progressing based solely on some behaviors in the video.
In March, Jeon Won-ju also experienced a health crisis after slipping on an icy road and fracturing a hip, requiring an artificial joint operation. About two months later he returned to YouTube, walking on his own and showing a more recovered state, and he shared upbeat updates such as handing pocket money to staff.
Because of this, speculation arose that the sudden departure of the existing production team might be related to Jeon Won-ju's health problems, but Jeon Won-ju's side denied this. His side said, "It is a process of channel renewal and reorganization," and added, "His health is perfectly fine and there is no problem with broadcast activities." They said the channel will not be closed completely but will undergo reorganization.
Amid ongoing concerns about his health, since Jeon Won-ju's side directly said there was nothing wrong, attention is focused on what the reorganized channel will look like when it returns.
