Actor Jang Dong-yoon will marry his longtime girlfriend Kim Seung-yoon, who is five years younger, this fall.
On the 25th, OSEN reported that Jang Dong-yoon will ring the wedding march with fellow actor Kim Seung-yoon in October. The two plan to hold a small, quiet ceremony with only family members such as both parents and relatives in attendance.
According to insiders, Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon built rapport based on their common bond as "actors" and met as "director-performer" on one production, where they worked closely together. They have dated carefully to the point that even those around them did not know, and it is reported they promised to marry based on deepened trust and confidence.
Previously, Jang Dong-yoon said in several interviews about his view of marriage, "marriage is a lifelong homework," adding, "I always pray for a spouse, and I like people similar to me. I am very ambitious about work, but I want to do it before I turn 40." In fact, he met his lifelong partner in his mid-30s and achieved his dream.
In particular, Jang Dong-yoon's bride-to-be Kim Seung-yoon was born in 1997, five years younger than Jang Dong-yoon. She enrolled in the film and video studies program at Konkuk University in the class of 2018 and debuted through the 2019 KBS2 historical drama "The Tale of Nokdu." In that drama, Jang Dong-yoon drew significant attention for convincingly portraying a woman disguised as a man.
Kim Seung-yoon earned recognition for her acting largely through art-house films, independent and short films rather than commercial ones, including Hong Sang-soo's films "In Water" (2023), "Haru" (2023), and "Traveler's Need" (2024), as well as "Be My Ears" (2023), "Maze" (2025), and "Nuruk" (2026). She gave an impressive lead performance in the films Be My Ears and Nuruk, both directed by her future husband Jang Dong-yoon, and on TV she made an impression last year in the KBS2 weekend drama "Eagle Five" as the cheerful diamond spoon Han Bom, the daughter of An Jaewook. Her most recent work includes the short-form drama "Let's Get Married 1+2."
Meanwhile, Jang Dong-yoon, a graduate of Hanyang University's department of economics and finance, appeared on SBS News in 2015 after apprehending a robber at a convenience store in Gwanak District, Seoul, and drew attention before his debut as the "good-looking college student who caught a robber."
He made his official debut in the 2016 web drama "Female Employees of a Game Company" and later appeared in School 2017, To You Who Forgot Poetry, Ddeunpo Girls, The Tale of Nokdu, Oasis, Daily Dose of Sunshine, Like Flowers in Sand, and The Mantis: Original Sin, among others. Expanding his activities from actor to director, he received praise for directing Be My Ears and Nuruk.
