Solo artist Evan (EVAN) heated up a major Chinese-language awards show and ascended to the inaugural "global K artist" throne.
Evan on the 23rd at Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium during the "2026 TME live International Music Awards (2026 TME live International Music Awards, hereinafter 2026 TIMA)" took home the "Global-K Artist" trophy.
Clutching the trophy, Evan shouted his fandom name "Ever," then, in fluent Chinese, said he was truly honored to receive such a meaningful award and that he would always do his best and show his best self.
What dominated the venue that day was clearly Evan's dazzling stage. Opening with the emotional vocal-driven "Overflow," he performed a cover of local hit 1K's "就忘了吧," deepening his rapport with local fans. He then unleashed explosive energy with the intense alternative rock sound of his debut single title track "Ride or Die," filling the entire stadium with fervent heat.
Immediately after the performance, many keywords related to Evan's stage entered Weibo's hot entertainment trending rankings, once again proving his powerful influence and solid fandom across the Chinese-speaking region.
The "global K artist" category of this "2026 TIMA" was newly established by Tencent Music Entertainment Group as host and by jointly launching the "Global-K Chart" data with Korea Melon (Melon)·China Tencent Music (TME)·Japan LINE MUSIC (LINE MUSIC), reflecting both data and fan votes. Evan earned the honor of being the inaugural winner based on his global influence.
Earlier, Evan showed his presence by reaching No. 1 on China Tencent Music's weekly Korea chart with his debut title track "Ride or Die."
Accelerating his global activities, Evan will attend the "2026 K World Dream Awards" on the 27th and will release his first mini album "DEATH OF ME," containing eight tracks in total, on Sept. 7. With Evan leading production on all tracks and capturing his sincere inner self on this new release, expectations are growing for what musical capabilities he will demonstrate.
