Singer Sean directly clarified an unexpected misunderstanding surrounding the hiring of a PD for his YouTube channel.
On the 22nd, a video titled "Sean upset because of comments…" was released on the YouTube channel 'With Sean.' Sean, who previously posted a job opening for a PD to shoot and edit videos, confessed his concern that there were surprisingly few actual applicants.
Sean said, "Since it's a job posting, people should apply, but only a few people have actually applied while many only left comments," and added, "I'm very grateful to those who applied and they seem really skilled." Even so, given the usual outpouring of support for the channel, he candidly expressed regret, saying, "Personally, I thought hundreds would apply."
While pondering the low application rate, Sean recalled the comments on the job posting. Because of Sean's image as someone serious about running, joking reactions continued, such as, "It looks like working there would be really tough," "You'd have to beat Sean at running," and "Shouldn't you be able to run around a sub-3?"
In response, Sean actively clarified, "I still haven't achieved a sub-3 myself." He went on to say, "Because of those comments, many people seem to be intimidated and don't apply in advance. That's absolutely not the case. You don't have to be sub-3. You don't have to beat me," repeating the point and drawing laughter.
In fact, the PD who joined through a previous hiring also is not good at running. Sean emphasized that running ability is not a hiring requirement, saying, "That person also couldn't run well, but is doing very well now."
What Sean considered more important was empathy with the channel's direction. He explained that amid a flood of sensational content, 'With Sean' wants to convey warm human stories, the joy of running and positive influence, adding, "People who share that vision are the ones working together."
Finally, Sean eased potential applicants' worries, saying, "Please apply comfortably. It's okay if you're not good at running." With the unexpected misunderstanding that "to work with Sean you have to beat Sean" having arisen, attention turns to whether Sean's pleasant clarification will lead to actual applications.
