Announcer couple Son Bum-soo·Jin Yang-hye welcomed a daughter-in-law.
On the 24th broadcast, KBS1's 'Morning Yard' episode "Star couple story" featured South Korea's representative announcer couple Son Bum-soo and Jin Yang-hye.
Son Bum-soo and Jin Yang-hye said, "It seems we have been married 33 years this year. We got married in June 1994," showing they are still a loving couple.
Last spring, when their eldest son had the happy occasion of getting married, Son Bum-soo and Jin Yang-hye became parents-in-law. Son Bum-soo laughed, "That title still feels awkward. It seems the daughter-in-law also finds the title awkward." Their eldest son met his wife as a campus couple while attending the same university and the same department; they started dating in their freshman year and are known to have tied the knot after 12 years.
Jin Yang-hye said, "They each went on exchange programs and our eldest son completed his military service, but they continued their relationship. After about 10 years, they said they would get married. I think both my son and daughter-in-law are first loves," and added, "My younger brother, a cousin's older brother and even I got married with little dating experience, so I felt regret and told my son that, and he put on a serious face."
Son Bum-soo said, "I'm happy that a daughter-in-law has come. A good daughter-in-law has joined the family. I feel we raised our son well. I thought his taste in a partner resembled his father's, so the trait would continue."
Son Bum-soo debuted as a KBS 1990 class 17 public broadcaster announcer. Jin Yang-hye joined as a KBS 19th class public broadcaster announcer. Their two sons are reported to have graduated from Yonsei University and Princeton University, respectively.
