Born in 1928 in East Orange, New Jersey, Levine had a passion for acting from childhood, but for practical reasons worked as a school librarian for 25 years after graduating from college while raising her children. However, she did not give up her dream of acting; she chose early retirement, enrolled in an acting school later in life, and began auditioning in earnest.
Levine made her late debut in 1988 with the horror comedy film 'Slime City' and later appeared in prominent sitcoms and dramas such as 'Law & Order', Everybody Loves Raymond, and 'Gilmore Girls', gaining recognition. In particular, after leaving a mark with her distinctive performance on Everybody Loves Raymond, she became a frequent supporting actress and received many offers.
Even afterward, she continued energetic acting into her 90s, appearing in popular TV series such as 'Two Broke Girls', 'New Girl', 'Criminal Minds', and 'Shameless', and even appearing as a theater usher in the Oscar-winning film 'La La Land'. The deceased participated up to the film 'The Cure', released in 2026, and the short film 'Achiever', keeping her passionate acting spirit alive until the end.
