'Love On The Menu' Ha Seok-jin and Ahn Heeyeon ultimately left home viewers with lingering feelings with a bittersweet, missed connection ending.
On the 22nd at 8 p.m., episode 9 of the KBS 2TV weekend drama Love On The Menu aired, depicting Kim Mujin (Ha Seok-jin) and Han Gyurim (Ahn Heeyeon) each choosing their own paths and firmly passing one another. That episode recorded a nationwide household rating of 15.3% (Nielsen Korea), maintaining its position as the weekend drama overall No. 1.
That day, Kim Mujin formally proposed dating to Jang Seohyun (Lee Jooyeon). Despite strong opposition from Jang Seohyun's new stepmother Go Yoonhee (Yoon Yuseon), the steadfast pure love Jang Seohyun felt for Kim Mujin led the two to become lovers. When Cho Heungsik (Bae Jeongnam) came to him asking about his relationship with Han Gyurim, Kim Mujin drew a line, saying "we will not meet again," putting an end to his connection with Han Gyurim.
By contrast, Han Gyurim fell into deep confusion and despair after learning of her birth mother's remarriage and the shocking truth about her younger sibling Han Gyuyoung (Park Yuna).
At the end of the broadcast, a scene showed a drunken Han Gyurim wandering the street and the moment she crossed paths with Kim Mujin, who was driving. Kim Mujin saw Han Gyurim but did not stop his car and simply passed by, and Han Gyurim collapsed to the ground. The two missed each other completely in a cruel twist of timing, heightening the sense of immersion.
