Singer Son Tae Jin won his sixth overall victory on Immortal Songs with an overwhelming vocal performance and deep emotion.
Son Tae Jin appeared on the 22nd on KBS 2TV's Immortal Songs in the "50th anniversary — artist Choi Baek Ho" episode, delivering an exquisite performance that captivated the audience and the original artist.
Before the performance, Son Tae Jin said, "If I sing for a long time and think 'this is the kind of singer I should become,' it would undoubtedly be teacher Choi Baek Ho. Teacher's sensibility and voice are like a complete "instrument," and that music gives great comfort to many people," expressing his respect for the original artist.
That day, choosing Choi Baek Ho's "End of the sea," Son Tae Jin overwhelmed the mood at once with a calmly delivered introduction. As the song built, his characteristically weighty vocals and delicate emotional lines burst forth, maximizing the song's sentiment of longing.
The panel of music masters responded to Son Tae Jin's heartfelt performance. Son Tae Jin received 420 votes to take the final win, bringing home his sixth solo victory trophy, excluding group activities.
The original artist Choi Baek Ho also did not spare his praise. Choi Baek Ho said, "'End of the sea' is a very heartbreaking farewell song. I sang it from an objective perspective, but Son Tae Jin expressed it so poignantly as if he had actually been jilted. I'm grateful he interpreted it differently and beautifully," offering sincere praise.
Since the release of the remake album "Summer nostalgia," and spanning radio DJing, MCing and variety shows, Son Tae Jin, active as a "multitainer," proved his prowess in his main work as well.
Meanwhile, Son Tae Jin will continue meeting fans by holding a solo concert, "2026 Son Tae Jin solo concert 'THE MAESTRO'," today (23rd) following the 22nd at the Suwon Gyeonggi Arts Center Grand Theater.<
