A cooling 'Waterbomb' series continued, and returning "queen" Seo In Young and Nam You Joung's stage after leaving Brave Girls was finally revealed. Contrary to concerns, they captivated Waterbomb with their own colors and stage manners.
On the 22nd, Waterbomb Sokcho 2026 was held at Hanwha Resort Seorak Sorano in Jangsa-dong, Sokcho, Gangwon. At that day's Waterbomb, Rain, PhilGood Music (Tiger JK·Yoon Mi Rae·VV), Simon Dominic, (G)I-DLE's Soyeon, Lee Young Ji, Dayoung, Seo In Young, Nam You Joung and others appeared and delivered a heated performance.
Above all, the most notable at that day's Waterbomb was former Jewelry member Seo In Young. On her YouTube channel, she announced the Waterbomb booking news and when the production team asked, "Are you going to dance wearing only underwear?" she said, "Yes," and she completed a 46kg figure through weight loss.
The process was not easy. Seo In Young underwent general anesthesia and even arm liposuction surgery to reach 46kg. Asked about the costs of preparing for the performance, Seo In Young said, "I spent all the appearance fees," and as the "queen" herself she dominated the stage.
With a flashy dyed blonde look styled in a white bustier and one-piece swimsuit and completed with boots, Seo In Young passionately performed her hit songs, including "Cinderella." In particular, when her name was loudly called during the stage, Seo In Young appeared to choke up and shed tears. Returning to the stage after about 10 years, Seo In Young fully met expectations and made people look forward to her future.
As much attention was paid to Seo In Young, former Brave Girls member Nam You Joung also drew notice. Nam You Joung, who played a big role in the resurgence of "Rollin'", had continued team activities after the group changed its name from Brave Girls to Brave Girls (Brave Girls to Bbvgirl), but she left the team in 2024. Since then, Brave Girls reorganized as a trio and continued activities.
As news of Nam You Joung's appearance at Waterbomb came out, concerns followed more than expectations. Making her first Waterbomb appearance, Nam You Joung said she was considering methods of promoting the album at the time and said, "I thought about appearing on music shows, but when I received the opportunity to appear at Waterbomb, I decided to try this."
Because Nam You Joung had had no notable musical activities up to Waterbomb, concerns continued about what songs she would sing on stage. Nam You Joung said, "Many people were curious. Some gave looks like, 'What song is she going to do?' On the one hand it was burdensome, and on the other hand I wanted to enjoy the stage," she said, expressing her determination.
Ahead of Waterbomb, Nam You Joung released remakes such as "I really like you," "Prince of the Sea" and "Invitation," and she staged her performances with these songs. Nam You Joung, who also shared the stage with Hurta (BTOB's Lee Minhyuk), did not sing the much-anticipated and worried-about "Rollin'," and filled the stage with her own songs, successfully completing her first Waterbomb.
