Reality star Kim Zolciak, known from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, denied all charges after her son was arrested on sexual assault allegations.
On the 21st (local time), U.S. entertainment outlet Page Six reported that Kim Zolciak's 15-year-old son KJ Beerman, born to her and her separated husband, NFL star Kroy Biermann, was arrested on charges of homosexuality and sexual assault.
Through a Spokesperson, Kim Zolciak said, "The allegations raised about my son are utterly reckless and deeply concerning," and added, "My son has never had any relationship with the woman in question, and he firmly denies ever committing the acts the woman alleges."
She said her son voluntarily took and passed a lie detector test related to the allegation.
In the statement she said, "A test was conducted and none of the daughter's DNA was found on my son," and added, "We know this woman has made similar claims against two other people, which raises serious concerns that require a careful investigation."
Kim Zolciak warned, "False accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the accused but also for actual victims of sexual violence and abuse."
She said, "All legitimate claims should be taken seriously and investigated based on facts and evidence. At the same time, no one should be publicly condemned on the basis of mere accusations," and added, "We are confident that facts and evidence will reveal the truth, and we urge cooperation with lawful procedures rather than spreading unproven allegations."
KJ Beerman's lawyer also sent a statement to Page Six asserting that his client is "100% innocent," saying, "He tried to present evidence to the police at the time of his arrest. This includes results showing he passed a lie detector test conducted by a prominent and respected sexual offense lie detector expert, and evidence of other false claims previously made by the person who now claims to be the victim."
He added, "The police report records that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) did not find male DNA in any of the locations where the woman claimed the assault occurred," and said, "That he was arrested and held without bond is a tragedy. He is presumed innocent and, in fact, is innocent. The public should not assume these allegations are true and should respect the privacy of both families."
Page Six earlier reported that KJ Beerman was arrested on aggravated sexual assault charges on the 19th in Alpharetta, Georgia. A female classmate has alleged that KJ sexually assaulted her on April 23 in the gym locker room. KJ Beerman's side denies all charges.
