Regarding the prospective son-in-law, who is the boyfriend of their eldest daughter, Lim Yo-hwan said, "First of all, Ga-yeon and I have quite an age gap. Here the age differences are all over the place. In that situation, he's dating someone much older."
Lim Yo-hwan said, "So jokingly I said if this goes well I'll become 'jang-in hyung-a' (father-in-law older brother)," and added, "that's now becoming a reality." Lim Yo-hwan added, "(The form of address) he just calls me dad. It's only on the family register that it goes that way; the feeling is totally like older brother and younger brother."
Kim Ga-yeon also praised the prospective son-in-law's cooking. She said, "I have many Korean recipes, but our eldest is hopeless with cooking. There was no one to pass my recipes to, but our prospective son-in-law cooks well. I've already given him a few recipes," expressing satisfaction.
Meanwhile, Kim Ga-yeon remarried former pro gamer Lim Yo-hwan in 2011 and has two daughters.
